Streamlining Documentation
To ensure successful adoption our rebranded design system, we added more detail to our documentation, and we migrated it to Figma to reduce friction.
Source Material
Our original design system documentation was built gradually in a stack of varyingly organized Notion pages.
This served us well as a small, growing team, because we could build as quickly as we needed, documenting as we went. But when we came to the task of rebranding, our team was larger and in need of tidier documentation.
Migrating to Figma
We decided to move all of our core documentation for the new design system into Figma, which allows more seamless updates and a closer integration with our libraries.
Components in Action
With a Figma-based design system, our designers can click into the live, inline components to review how the properties are structured.
Reducing Friction
Finally, all of our new design system components include a direct link to an anchor point in the documentation explaining how to use each component.
